Mike Anastasiades from Oracle Corporation, will describe how OLAP features are integrated into Oracle9i and how Oracle Enterprise Manager is used to manage OLAP cubes as well as how to create cubes, how to create dimensions, and how to manage multi-dimensional data with one tool, OEM.

Following this introduction, Dan Vlamis, President of Vlamis Software Solutions will demonstrate VSSBA, an end-user application that uses Oracle9i OLAP and Oracle9i Business Intelligence Beans to allow users to analyze data in data marts, data warehouses, and analytic workspaces

This one-hour iSeminar is scheduled for September 19, 2002 at 1:00pm CDT. Click here to register for this iSeminar, or visit the iSD website at http://isd.oracle.com. "Exposing the Power of Oracle9i OLAP to End Users: An Oracle Partner's Story"

Oracle9i is the first and only database on the market to provide embedded, pre-integrated OLAP (OnLine Analytical Processing) in the database. No data movement. One data repository. Easier access to data to support the decision-making process.

In this collaboration between Oracle and Vlamis Software Solutions (VSS), an Oracle Certified Solution Partner, you will see a LIVE demonstration of using Oracle Enterprise Manager to manage 9i OLAP cubes and a LIVE demonstration of VSS Business Analyzer (VSSBA), the first end-user application to use Oracle's Business Intelligence Beans to analyze data in Oracle9i OLAP.

Oracle will describe how OLAP features are integrated into Oracle9i and Oracle Enterprise Manager is used to manage OLAP cubes. Also included will be a discussion of Analytic Workspaces and how they are integrated in the rest of Oracle9i Release 2. Following this introduction, VSS will demonstrate VSSBA, an end-user application that uses Oracle9i OLAP and Oracle9i Business Intelligence Beans to allow users to analyze data in a data mart or warehouse or analytic workspaces.

VSSBA was built with Oracle9i JDeveloper and uses OLAP-aware Enterprise Java Beans such as the crosstab, graph, query builder, and calculation beans. VSSBA puts the power and flexibility of Oracle9i OLAP in the hands of decision makers to perform and share their own analyses. This can satisfy a backlog of report and application requests buried in the Information Technology department. Features include:

.$B!|.(J

Ad hoc analysis of Oracle9i OLAP data
.$B!|.(J Drilling and rotating on reports
.$B!|.(J Exception analysis
.$B!|.(J Over 50 graph types
.$B!|.(J Fine control over report and graph cosmetics
.$B!|.(J User-creatable calculations (share, lag, etc.)
.$B!|.(J Asymmetric reports
.$B!|.(J Single repository for sharing reports, graphs, and calculations
.$B!|.(J Query selections independent from reports and graphs
.$B!|.(J Data-driven formatting of cells in reports (color coding and stoplighting)
.$B!|.(J Forecasting

What makes all of this possible?
