Intelligent Enterprise Review of VSSBA

Paul Dean's review of VSSBA in the May 31, 2003 issue of Intelligent Enterprise starts with "Vlamis Software Solutions Inc.'s Business Analyzer (VSSBA) bridges the gap between the developer and the business user by providing an intuitive, easy-to-use environment for building and deploying (OLAP) applications without the need to write code. VSSBA utilizes BI Beans to expose the functionality available in Oracle9i OLAP." It then concludes "VSSBA is an intuitive and powerful general-purpose OLAP front end tool. Existing Oracle Express clients looking to migrate their read-only analysis applications to Oracle9i OLAP or companies that will be using Oracle9i OLAP as their BI platform would do well to consider this product."

The same issue has a feature article on Oracle9i OLAP and mentions VSSBA.

Oracle Reference Forum

Vlamis Software will be featured in an Oracle Reference Forum conference call on June 26, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm central time. In this informal reference call, participants will have the opportunity to speak first-hand with Dan Vlamis, President and Chris Claterbos, Consulting and Development Manager of Vlamis Software Solutions. The call will focus on 9i Database OLAP Option, JDeveloper, and BI Beans. It will open with a brief overview of VSS's experience with Oracle9i OLAP and BI Beans, followed by candid discussion and an open question and answer session.

Vlamis Software at ODTUG 2003

Dan Vlamis will be presenting at this year's ODTUG 2003 meeting, including a three-hour "tool topic" on Sunday showing the whole process of creating cubes in Oracle all the way to creating business intelligence applications with BI Beans. If you are attending and would like to schedule a meeting or demonstration with Dan, please send us an e-mail.

Sessions involving Vlamis Software:

ODTUG 2003 is from June 22 through 26 in Miami Beach, Florida. See www.odtug.com for more information about the conference.

OTN Article on BI Beans

Chris Claterbos goes through the steps of migrating an Oracle Express application to BI Beans in his 10-page article Oracle9i Business Intelligence Beans: Making the Move. We are honored that this article was featured as one of the "Top Stories" the week of May 12, 2003 on the Oracle Technology Network at http://technet.oracle.com/otn_may_2003.html.

CSV Exporter for OSA and Express

Adding to a growing number of tools and utilities specifically designed for Oracle Business Intelligence technologies, we have created a comma separated value (CSV) export utility for Oracle Sales Analyzer. This utility will export a series of reports defined in OSA. It is designed to be run in a batch environment on a server. The same routine could be used to export any Express data or Oracle9i analytic workspace data. Send us an email or give us a call if you are interested in more information.

New Demo Server for VSS

Vlamis Software has installed a new demonstration server directly connected to the internet. This allows us to demonstrate VSS Business Analyzer (thin or thick version) or other Oracle OLAP software to you. Send us an email or give us a call if you are interested in seeing a live demonstration of Oracle9i OLAP, BI Beans, or other Oracle software such as Analytic Workspace Manager, Oracle Portal, Oracle Warehouse Builder, or Discoverer.
